Wandering Around Bhaktapur: Historical city Of Nepal ♥ 1

Bhaktapur also known as Bhadgaon or Khwopa is an ancient Newar city located in the east side of Kathmandu valley, Nepal. Also enlisted as a world heritage site by UNESCO, it is known for its rich newar culture. The wooden and stone sculpture are one of a kind and can mesmerize anyone.

This is a snap of an old "Dhara" i.e water tap that has lost its water but not its Beauty. A stone sculpture with elephant's trunk and a mouth, it was used as a source of water in ancient times. The details though weathered with time, can be appreciated. As water is regarded as an essential element among the five classical elements, sculpture of god can be seen above and below the 'dhara'. Bhaktapur literally means 'place of devotees' and the details wont disappoint you.

I was mesmerized with the details and the concept. Hope you did too :)
