Bhaktapur also known as Bhadgaon or Khwopa is an ancient Newar city located in the east side of Kathmandu valley, Nepal. Also enlisted as a world heritage site by UNESCO, it is known for its rich newar culture. The wooden and stone sculpture are one of a kind and can mesmerize anyone.
This is the entry gate to the historical city or "Dhoka". The pediment is designed with sculptured wood. Though weathered, the details are beautiful. It is the sculpture of the same demon which can be found engraved in most of the Nepali temple pediment.
